Introduction
SimKit (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our macOS application.
Information We Collect
Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)
SimKit uses Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app. This includes:
- App usage statistics: Features used, session duration, app launches
- Device information: macOS version, device model, app version
- Crash reports: Technical diagnostics to improve app stability
- Anonymous identifiers: Firebase-generated IDs (not personally identifiable)
We do NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Simulator content or screenshots you create
- Files or data from your computer
- Any personally identifiable information (PII)
Subscription Data (RevenueCat)
If you purchase a Pro subscription, RevenueCat processes transaction data in Observer Mode:
- Transaction information: Purchase receipts, subscription status
- Anonymous user ID: For subscription management
- App Store transaction data: Handled by Apple’s secure payment system
Important: We never see or store your payment information. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store.
Local Data Storage
SimKit stores preferences and settings locally on your Mac:
- App preferences (screenshot format, save location, etc.)
- Network monitoring settings
- Mock endpoint configurations
- Promo code activation status (if applicable)
This data:
- Stays on your device only
- Is never transmitted to our servers
- Can be deleted by uninstalling the app
How We Use Your Information
We use collected data to:
- Improve the app: Understand which features are most valuable
- Fix bugs: Identify and resolve technical issues
- Analyze usage patterns: Make informed decisions about future features
- Manage subscriptions: Verify Pro tier access and handle renewals
Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-party services we use:
- Firebase (Google): Analytics and crash reporting
- RevenueCat: Subscription management (Observer Mode)
- Apple App Store: Payment processing
These services have their own privacy policies and data handling practices.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Local data is protected by macOS security features
- No passwords or sensitive credentials are stored
- Firebase and RevenueCat follow SOC 2 compliance standards
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
Opt-Out of Analytics
Currently, analytics collection is enabled by default. You can request opt-out by contacting us at: ealtaca@gmail.com
Delete Your Data
- Local data: Uninstall SimKit to remove all local preferences
- Analytics data: Contact us to request deletion of your Firebase Analytics data
- Subscription data: Managed by Apple; contact Apple Support for deletion requests
Access Your Data
You can request a copy of any data we hold about you by emailing ealtaca@gmail.com
Children’s Privacy
SimKit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
Notification of changes:
- Material changes will be announced in the app or via the App Store
- Continued use of SimKit after changes constitutes acceptance
Data Retention
- Analytics data: Retained by Firebase according to their retention policy (typically 14 months)
- Subscription data: Retained by RevenueCat for the duration of your subscription plus legal requirements
- Local preferences: Stored until you delete the app
International Users
SimKit is developed in Turkey and complies with applicable data protection laws. If you are located outside Turkey, please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries where Firebase and RevenueCat operate.
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights:
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to delete personal information
- Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (Note: We do NOT sell personal information)

Permissions Required
SimKit requests the following macOS permissions:
- Screen Recording: To detect active simulator windows and position the floating debug panel alongside them. Only window metadata (position, size, title) is read — no screen content is captured, stored, or transmitted. Window metadata is held in memory during app runtime only and is never written to disk.
- Accessibility: To detect and interact with simulator windows
- File Access: To save screenshots and videos to your chosen location (~/Downloads by default)
- Network (Local): To communicate with the companion SDK running inside the Simulator via a local TCP socket. All network communication is strictly localhost only.
These permissions are only used for the app’s core functionality and can be revoked in System Settings at any time.
Open Source Notice
SimKit may include open-source components. A full list of third-party libraries and their licenses can be found in the app’s “About” section or on our GitHub repository.
